Faculty of Maritime Studies MoU

We are pleased to announce the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Rijeka (Croatia), establishing a close co-operation for the mutual benefit and improvement of employment opportunities.
The MoU foresees that SeaFlag Shipmanagement will recruit cadets from Rijeka Faculty of Maritime Studies top class graduates, contributing to expanding their nautical education and offering a comprehensive career development programme.
Each party involved plays an active role in cadet training. Rijeka Faculty of Maritime Studies ashore training centres and SeaFlag’s own officers onboard managed vessels, aim to improve skills, education and the experience of our recruits in becoming the future’s officers, through a jointly developed training package, during the cadet’s attendance at maritime academy and seagoing service.
In 2013, we recruited about 30 cadets of different European and Asian nationalities, ten of which to date have been promoted to officer.
We train cadets with a focus on safety, security and a respect of the marine environment, providing mentoring and career guidance according to industry’s best practices, a well-trained crew is crucial for the successful operation of any ship.
