SeaQuest Shipmanagement is an independent, privately owned provider of ship management, crewing, ship operation and maritime consultancy services for third parties.
For 30 years we have been feeling and acting as partners for the Owners who selected us for the management of their ships and always run their vessels to our best.
A short chain of command allows us to take the most critical decision in a fast and efficient way.
We focus on the continuous improvement of the quality of our seafarers, shore staff, management procedures and on the highest quality/price ratio in the investment of our Clients rather than on the sole growth on the size of the managed fleet. This explains why we score very low technical off-hires, actual vs. budgeted opex variations and H&M claims for all vessels in our management.
With service centres in Italy, Croatia, Singapore, Switzerland, China and a representative office in Japan, we manage a twenty-strong fleet, mainly composed by bulk carriers, container ships, ro-ros and chemical tankers.
We have also a wide experience of crude oil and product tankers, OBOs, LPGs, livestock carriers, anchor handlers and PSVs.
Our safety management system has been satisfactorily applied for several decades in the management of all types of ships and is continuously updated to the highest standards. Our Safety & Quality manuals and ship management procedures are certified by RINA in conformity to ISO 9001 standards.
Fully owned crewing agencies in the Philippines and Croatia and carefully selected crewing partners in other key recruiting nations such as Ukraine, India, Myanmar, China, allow us to man all our ships with experienced and professional offices and ratings.

We have been in the ship management and marine technical consultancy market since 1987, when brothers Sebastiano and Vittorio Portunato founded Portunato & C. S.r.l., offering tailor-made and cost-effective ship management solutions at the highest standards.
Since inception, the company has been devoted to the wet and dry bulk sectors.
During the late 1990s we specialized in the management of OBOs, which was one of the most complex vessel types of that time, reaching a deadweight capacity of 555,000 mt.
After the decline of the OBO type, the activity was primarily focused on crude oil, product and chemical tankers, chartered to all main oil majors and traders and worldwide operating. Among the most significant achievements, one Aframax tanker was successfully run for a period of 5 years in lightering operations in the U.S. Gulf with no technical off-hire.
Together with tankers, we also managed bulk carriers, which has recently become our core business, and have gained good experience with gas carriers, general cargo, container feeders, RO-ROs, livestock carriers and offshore support vessels over the years.
We started the crewing activity around 2005 and have set up our own offices and partnerships with recruiting agents in key areas such as Croatia, Ukraine, India, the Philippines, Myanmar and China.
Through hard work and positive achievements our group has grown steadily and now has head offices in Geneva and Singapore, management offices in Genoa and Rijeka, and representative offices in Tokyo and Dalian, which operated under the brands of SeaFlag and SeaQuest Oriental. All brands merged into SeaQuest in December 2014.
